Gluten Chronicles – I got glutened :-(

wpid-wp-1402273518045.jpegUgh, I am having a severe allergic reaction to something.  Is it gluten?  I am 95% sure, but having just secured affordable healthcare I am making it my business to get officially tested. For now I’m sticking to my conclusion based on the simple process of eating and then not-eating foods with gluten and experiencing the results.  This however may be the perfect time to go for testing as I am in a full melt-down.

So what is a Diva to do when she’s itchy, achy, covered in hives, cranky, and frustrated?  Write of course! It’s been two weeks since I THINK I ate a lot of bread w/Gluten.  The server assured me that they had gluten free bread, but based on the overall service at the restaurant and extensive time I am suffering, I suspect it wasn’t.  The usual combo of benadryll and prescribed topical steriod (yuck) were NOT getting the job done and after a visit to urgent care and being told to try zyrtec. hyrdocortizone, and antibiotics and seeing no results I am at my wits end.

I pray and meditate daily and what came to me in a quiet period was to go natural.  I remembered I have a library with many books on natural healing so I got busy.  The one with a specific reference to Dermatitis was

  • B-Complex (full spectrum)
  • Vitamins A, C, E, D
  • Enzymes
  • Probiotics

I am completing full day one of the fast and supplements and maybe a smidge of improvement? 

Lots and LOTS of veggies such as celery, beets, kale, cumbers, and carrots that are great for the skin and tons of water.  I also am using aloe vera (straight from the plant) on  my skin too.  Stay tuned for updates!
