My Emotions Are Irritating Me…Literally!

For the past couple of months I have been dealing with Dyshidrotic Eczema, it kinda sucks.  It’s triggered by stress and/or the change of seasons.

“Emotional stress[7] and environmental factors (eg, seasonal changes, hot or cold temperatures, humidity) reportedly exacerbate dyshidrosis. In addition, dyshidrosislike eczematous eruptions with the use of intravenous immunoglobulin infusions have been reported.” ~ http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1122527-overview#a6

stress-300x300Seeing as my journey of fitness and healing has led me to understand that emotional trauma is at the core of MOST chronic diseases and I am on my healing journey from extreme long-term emotional trauma, I suspect this to be a combination of emotional stress and the transition from summer to fall.

I am experiencing this outbreak on my middle and ring finger of my left hand.  Understanding that where one experiences an outbreak can shed insight into the cause I took some time to meditate and pray opening myself to insight on how to heal this and I recalled that a few years ago I attended a workshop on managing stress and your emotions.  One of the presenters shared how your accupressure can be used relieve emotional distress. She showed how your fingers, ears and specific points on the head & neck combined with essential oils can be activated to bring relief.  Moreover she shared how each finger correlates to a specific emotion!

After giving thanks for having that resource returned to my conscious awareness I went to searching for information and found this AWESOMOE article!

Who could have imagined that by holding your fingers with your opposite hand you could calm yourself.

Source: Manage Your Emotions By Holding Your Fingers

After this refresher and referencing “Heal Your Body,” by Louise Hay, I got that the middle finger relates to  Anger, Rage,  Resentment , and Sexuality and the Ring Finger to  Sadness, Unions, and Grief.  I already know that the left side of the body  has to do with Feminine energy.  I know that Eczema has to do with Breath-taking antagonism & mental eruptions, and itching/inflammation to anger, frustration, fear, and being unsatisfied.  OMG so much drama going on inside this body here!

In terms of resolution I need an outlet to release this rage and inside and to affirm my peace and harmony.   I will use the finger-holding breathing technique combined with the Relief Essential Oil Blend and the following affirmations from “You Can Heal Your Body,” will be recorded & recited for the next couple of weeks.  I will begin taking the Keep Cool & Release It Flower Essences & to help me balance out energetically am also am in need of some physical exertion!

  • “Harmony and peace, love and joy surround me and indwell me.  I am safe and secure.”
  • “I am comfortable with my sexuality”
  • “I am peacefully loving”
  • “My thinking is peaceful, calm, & centered”
  • “I am at peace just where I am. I accept my good, knowing all my needs and desires will be fulfilled”
  • “I handle all my experiences with wisdom, with love, and with ease”
  • “I deserve to rejoice in life.  I accept all the pleasure life has to offer”

Yes I strive to be peaceful, but in reality I do experience anger, rage (my middle finger has the most prevalent number of blisters) that needs to be processed out of my body.   I have to balance my yoga and meditation practice with something like kickboxing. I’ve been feeling like a marital arts/self-defense class may be a good idea and that would certainly get the job done!

Wrapping up, the idea of finger holding being calming could also explain why we love holding hands.  It makes us feel good!
